The three-day, interactive training program was created for supervisors and managers who want to ensure excellence in their management and organizational skills. The training style is upbeat, educational, and engaging and takes place on successive Fridays over the span of three weeks. It was designed for new supervisors and for those who have been supervising for up to six years to expand their understanding and awareness of how to be an effective supervisor and manager.
Program design also incorporates participants’ various learning styles through pair and group exercises, role-plays, and other interactive exercises, including discussions and debriefing. Participants will be provided the DISC, a success-oriented self assessment tool. A sense of productivity, enjoyment, and learning are fostered throughout the program.
Participants will consider the questions: What are my styles, values, and tendencies? How can I enhance my supervisory skills? How can I provide my best work and fully contribute to my organization? The training utilizes a tri-part focus of results, process, and relationship that fosters good dialog, understanding of self and others, and enjoyment of work and life.
Participants will:
- Assess their leadership style and practice
- Learn about essential supervisory and management competencies, including:
- Performance management
- Communication skills
- Meeting management skills
- Assess their organization’s culture and norms
- Develop an on-going individual development plan that supports learning, enjoyment and productivity
