Having to confront workers with difficult conversations about performance, feedback, and disciplinary issues is one conversation most managers want to avoid. Yet the problem remains that unless we take these challenges head on-no change will take place in the performance of employees. This is particularly difficult when the employee thinks that h she/he is doing a fine job. In this seminar, we will address five critical areas of how to conduct these difficult conversations:

  • Planning for what you will say and how you will say it
  • Addressing the issues as well as the solutions without alienating employee
  • Not allowing emotions to overrule reason in giving direction
  • Dealing with perfect employees who really are not doing the job
  • Getting people to accept constructive criticism and move forward.
